Subscriptions are managed by your device's app store. On Android use Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions. On iPhone use Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Quick fix: most issues can be resolved by force-closing and reopening the app, or restarting the device.

Camera not working

Check that BetterClimber has camera permission enabled in the device settings. The app only needs camera access while actively recording a climb.

App running slowly

Pose detection is computationally intensive. Close other apps in the background and clear cached storage if your phone is under heavy load.

Sessions not saving

Make sure the device has enough free storage. BetterClimber stores videos and pose landmark data locally, so very low storage can interrupt saves.

How does BetterClimber analyze my climbing?

BetterClimber uses on-device AI pose detection to track 33 body landmarks in real time. All processing happens on your phone or tablet, not on external servers.

What do the efficiency metrics mean?

COM Stability: how steady your center of mass stays during moves.
Body Tension: how well you maintain body control on the wall.

Can I analyze videos I already recorded?

Yes. BetterClimber Pro can import existing climbing videos from your gallery, then run local pose analysis, skeleton overlay, and movement heatmaps on-device.

Where does my data go?

It stays on your device unless you explicitly share a video or export a backup file.

Does the app upload my videos or record sound?

No. Session recordings and imported videos are processed locally, and BetterClimber does not record audio.

How do I restore my data on a new device?

Use Backup & Restore in Settings. Your backup transfers session metadata, preferences, and other app data. Video files are not included because they are too large.

The pose detection looks off. What should I check?

Use good lighting so your body is clearly visible.
Keep your full body inside the camera frame.
Stabilize the phone with a tripod or solid support.
Wear clothing that contrasts with the wall background.

Can I delete everything?

Yes. Delete sessions individually from History, clear app data in device settings, or uninstall the app to remove all local BetterClimber data.

Camera Access

The app requires camera access to record your climbing sessions and perform real-time pose analysis. This permission is used only when you actively record a session. No audio is recorded — the app only captures video.

Photo Library Access

With the Pro video import feature, the app may request access to your photo library to let you select existing climbing videos for analysis. Videos are processed locally and never uploaded.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms provided by the operating system. Data includes:

Pose landmark data stored as JSON files
Settings and preferences stored in encrypted app storage

Data Sharing

BetterClimber does not share your data with any third parties. The only way data leaves your device is:
